Driving In Rain

Author: Verapol Chaiyapin

In perfect world, rainy days were made for us to hang out at the coffeehouse watching raindrops or wrapped up warm in bed. But in reality, there're still errands to run, work and business to attend. Rain is probably one of the biggest causes of road accidents happening each year. Even the best drivers get nervous when driving in rain. Being prepared, cautious and going slow can help you feel more secure on the road. But there are other things to keep in mind as well.

Keep your car in good condition, specially the tires and the windshield wipers. Turn on the headlights so you can see the road better and others can see you. You should plan to drive at a slower pace and allow more travel time. Since the roads are sleeker when wet, leave extra space between you and the other cars and when you need to brake, do it earlier and with less force than usual. Since most roads in America tend to be higher in the middle, try to stay in the middle lane to avoid water runoff and deep standing water. After crossing a puddle, tap on your brake pedal lightly to dry off your brake rotors. Last keep a sharp look out on people on the road, they're usually distracted and not as careful about coming cars.

If you are looking to buy a Ford car, I advise you to do your homework. Don't forget to check out our Ford Taurus Amarillo. We have the best car buying tips.
