Hovering Automobile Powered by Wind?

Author: Lance Winslow

Can we build a hovering automobile powered mostly by wind using all the latest ener4gy efficient technologies, new materials, batteries and some aerodynamic tricks of low air-pressure? Could the brake lights run off kinetic energy charging system when in use? I like the old concept of the Wind-windshield wipers in the 50's running off the wind the car generated as it goes down the road? That is cool.

With regards to the questions of Extra Battery Weight, the new MIT batteries are not so heavy, but even still with the use of various hover craft technologies and ground cushion, we blow about 3 Lbs per square inch under the car of low pressure or create the low pressure from forward movement and airfoil sandwich sheets under the car and allow those flows thru fans, which charge and force the low pressure flows under the car?

Although a gust of wind could blow your car off the road so you would need to use the ESC systems to help your wheels on the ground move at the proper speeds and adjust, but if you have a battery powered car you most likely would have a motor at each wheel anyway so the computer system could easy do this?

But remember if you take the weight off the wheels the car kind of wants to fly? Maybe we should be building a flying car, which is powered with very low amounts of energy instead?

Why worry about all that friction of the wheels on the ground, can we simply fly to work or fly the kids to soccer practice? Another problem as stated is the inclement weather situation, Icy roads is a biggie too. Why not have sound systems from the motors to crack any ice directly in the path of the car or on its windshield there is a company making such a system now.

Noise is an issue too, if it is too quiet pedestrians will get hit as they will not hear it coming. Too noisy and we need to use that energy to help us. Noise can be made into energy? For instance exiting molecules of helium in an enclosed carbon nanotube tank. Is this all a pipe dream or can we actually pull it off? Imagine this in 2006.
