The Best Beginner Paintball Guns

Author: Anne Clarke

Good beginner paintball guns come in packages. What do I mean by this? Well, if you are a beginner, you are not just going to need a good beginner paintball gun: you are going to need some other good gear, as well. And the best way to buy all of this gear is to buy it together, in a package.

Of course, let me clarify one thing: by "good" ? beginner paintball gun, I really mean "cheap" ? paintball gun. This is because if you are just starting out, a basic and inexpensive marker will be just fine. In fact, some of the more expensive guns can be overwhelming.

Before you invest in any expensive, expert paintball markers, you really ought to get a better feel for the sport. Not until you know how you play will you know what sort of marker you really need.

If you are only planning on playing once, maybe twice, a year, it may not be worth it to buy your own gear. You may want to rent it, instead. But if you know you will be playing paintball more, and if you know that you want to really get into the sport, then you really are going to want a good beginner paintball gun.

As I said before, good beginner paintball guns oftentimes come in packages. Generally, when you buy a paintball package, you can get all the important gear (like the marker, mask, harness, viewloader, CO2 tank, hopper, etc.) for less money, overall. Definitely make sure you find a paintball package with a mask or goggles. Protection is always important even if (and especially if) you are just a beginner.

Remember, you can start out with a cheap, yet good, beginner paintball gun and upgrade, later. Before you upgrade, and perhaps even before you buy your beginner marker, it is a good idea to try out the markers of you peers on a couple of different playing fields to see what you like.

Here are some good beginner paintball guns and packages that you may want to start out with:

Ph STS Player Package by Piranha

Under $200:

98 Custom ACT Power Pack by Tippmann

Under $300:
