Innovation = Success!

Author: Jeffery S. Miller

Many people often fear innovation. They fail to recognize the key to success is not doing the same old thing over again, but it's trying something new. When you are trying something for the first time, it will seem foreign. Some people may scoff and make fun of you. Don't let that get to you. You'll be the one who makes it to the top!

When something new comes along, people are hesitant to jump on the bandwagon. Fads come and go, so they have the right to feel that way. You don't want your product or idea to be a flash in the pan. There's no way to garauntee that your idea will be the next billion dollar idea. Don't let that be grounds for you to dimiss your idea to the wayside. You will have to take the big step to get the public to know what you have to offer them.

I always believed Innovation=Success. I will believe that until my dying day, or until someone proves me differently. If you have the same product everyone else has, there's no reason for them to come to you. You have to offer the public something they have never seen before. There will be resistance, but that's natural. Some people will not be better off because of your product, and that's ok. You can't win everyone.

When you do advance to the step of creating public interest in your idea or product, let them know what they have now and how you're making it better. Don't worry if they mock the idea. They will be wanting to use the idea later. If the idea catches on, they will be bragging that they have talked to the inventor of the product. People can be strange. That's just the way the world works. Everyone is unique in their own perspectives. We wouldn't want everyone to be the same, or you wouldn't have a chance of getting your product out on the market.

If you're not the innovative type, it will require a change in the way of your thinking. Creativity comes from problem solving. Practice solving unique problems, and look for answers that you think will solve the dilemma. Your product won't necessairlly come from the question that you answered, but it will open up a new horizon for you to think. If you don't come away with anything else, just remember Innovation=Success!
