Natural Cure for Hair Loss - The Solution for You?

Author: Tim James

Hair is the glory of the woman. Men dont mind having a head full of hair either. And for many of us, the loss of hair can be a traumatic experience, shaking our self-confidence and, even if in our own mind, limiting our effectiveness both personally and in business. So lets look for a natural cure for hair loss.

Hair can be an indicator of health in humans. Brittle hair can indicate a lack of vitamin B. On the other hand, brittle or dry hair can be a sign of a deficiency in essential fats. Dull hair that grows poorly indicates a zinc deficiency. And hair loss, the bane of men and women everywhere, indicates a loss or deficiency of iron, vitamin B1, vitamin C, and lysine, a basic amino acid found in proteins.

The exact causes of hair loss are still something of a mystery. While some studies have tied the loss of hair to iron deficiencies, the excess of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone has also been identified as a cause. Some experts have even suggested that an under-active thyroid is a possible culprit in hair loss. So is there a natural cure for hair loss?

Certain types of medication have been proven to slow down the loss of hair. These include Minoxodil and Rogaine. A second, mechanical solution is hair transplant.

Both Minoxodil and Rogaine come with significant side effects and other warnings. These side effects include an allergic reaction including difficulty in breathing, swelling of the lips, hands, or tongue, and hives. The user could also experience chest pains, an irregular or fast heartbeat, dizziness or lightheadedness or even fainting. Reactions also include itching, redness, dryness and flaking of the scalp and headaches.

Hair transplant, one of the other options, carries its own disadvantages. The procedure is painful, involving the transfer of hair follicles from the back of the head to the front, balding portion of the scalp.

One of the newest processes in hair transplant procedures is the follicular unit hair transplantation. And remember, this process doesnt create new follicles. It simply moves the follicles from one place to another. As a result, the extent of baldness, and the amount of hair available to work will determine just what kind of results the patient can expect.

Hair transplantation is surgery involving anesthetization, cutting, sutchering and all the other elements of a real live surgery. And this includes the potential of infection, scarring, and other risks. With the risks from all these procedures it would be much better to find a natural cure for hair loss.

Of course the best thing to do is to avoid the initial loss of hair. This can be accomplished primarily by a healthy diet. Generally, the foods that are good for your body are good for your hair. This means your diet should be rich in foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish, and dairy products. In other words, you should eat balanced meals from what used to be called the five food groups.

Of course, this means vegetarians are somewhat more susceptible to hair loss because their diets are lacking in vitamin B12, iron, and lysine. As a result, they should take natural supplements to keep their nutritional intakes at an effective level.

As with most goals, the avoidance of hair loss can be aided with several natural supplements. By pursuing this option rather than surgery, you avoid
- Painful surgery
- The risk of infection and scarring
- The expense of surgery
- The inconvenience of surgery

However, if you have already lost your hair to male pattern baldness and want to fight back, the following supplements have been shown to be effective in treating hair loss.

- B complex
- Evening primrose oil
- Fish oil
- Kelp
- Lysine
- Multivitamins and multi-minerals
- Vitamin C

These supplements work naturally with no significant side effects to the user.

A look around you will quickly reveal that hair loss is a common occurrence in males and females. Of course some of the folks you see have lost more hair than others. The question is why should you or any of them spend a huge amount of money on prescription or over the counter drugs that have questionable side effects or expensive surgery to deal with this problem. Safe, reliable, inexpensive, and effective natural cures for hair loss are available.
