Method 1: Fabric Paints

You will need:

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Kitchen towels

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Newspaper

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Paint palette

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Your stitchery

Please note you can use acrylic paints but you will need to buy a fabric medium so the colours don't run.

Instructions:

Lay out your newspaper to cover your surfaces. Have all your materials ready to use.

Start colouring in your stitched piece taking care not to paint over your stitching.

Colour all desired areas and then leave to dry!

It is as easy as that. You can then wash your piece once it is fully dry I would allow at least 24 hours to be safe.

Method 2: Crayons

You will need:

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->1 sheet of plain printer paper

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Iron

<!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Ironing board

Instructions:

Take your stitchery and your crayons, colour in all the desired areas with your chosen colours.

Once complete lay out your piece on your ironing board and heat your iron to a medium setting (I use number 2).

Place your paper over the top of your stitchery, making sure your stitchery is right side up.

Iron over the top gently making sure you cover the whole stitchery. Take a peek and see if the colour is transferring to your paper on the underside, if so you are doing it right.

You only need to do this for about 30secs as long as you have gone over the whole piece then it is done!

Once cooled your stitchery is ready to frame or complete into a pillow.
