St. Valentines Day is a day to celebrate love. It is also one of the most popular gift giving days. If you have a special guy in your life, what you give him for Valentines Day could make or break the relationship. Or is it the other way around? Whatever way you look at it, you want the gift you buy for your guy to be special and one that he will cherish for years to come.

If you think in terms of what you share as a couple, then the gift you give could benefit you too. A weekend getaway for example is a perfect couples treat. Just make sure its to a place he wants to go. Give him champagne and truffles if you want to spend a romantic night at home. Tickets to a sporting event or Broadway show will make for a fun time, and a family membership to gyms and museums works just as well.

If you want to get a special gift just for him, you must know his likes and dislikes very well. If he loves to read, give him several books by his favorite author or a gift certificate to a bookstore. A subscription to his favorite magazine is just as appropriate, as is a membership in a monthly club like home brewed beers.

If hes a golfer, enter him into a charity golfing event (make sure that his foursome all share about the same handicap, or he could be embarrassed). If he likes baseball or football, get him season tickets (or at least a pair) to his favorite teams home games. Or, buy him autographed memorabilia from his favorite athlete. Since it is Valentines Day make sure whatever you get him is sealed with a kiss.
