There is a very simple formula to achieve weight loss. The calorie intake should be less than the calories burnt by activity. Eating healthy and nutritious food and eating food at right intervals can achieve this. Sometimes, weight loss is a symptom of mental stress or a major illness. Junk food and fried food must be avoided as much as possible. Sticking to meals with a lot of fiber and fruits can help in controlling the appetite. Food should be eaten in small portions and at regular intervals.

Gyms and fitness trainers design various fitness programs. It is advisable to opt for a customized fitness program. These programs are aimed towards increasing the metabolic rate of the human body, which in turn starts burning excess calories. Any form of aerobic exercise such as walking or running is good for the body. Experts advise that regular physical exercise is critical for general well being.

An effective option for people who want to achieve rapid weight loss is weight loss surgery. It is extremely useful for severely obese people. Money can be a major constraint in this form of weight loss.

Another method of weight loss is crash diets such as a low carb diet or a cabbage soup diet. Most fitness experts discourage this type of weight loss. These diets may cause other health problems. Besides, the chances of regaining weight are very high.
